Welcome to our tribute page to the

Marine Corps 24 Dobermans of Guam,

We all know I was in the military and served in 4 tours overseas, I
felt compelled to post this as being I support the military operations
our boys are doing over there now - and plus I own Dobermans so
it fits hand and hand.... Hope you enjoy this as much as I did...

The two photographs show the War Dog Memorial at the United
States Military Cemetery on the island of Guam. The United States
Marines used the Doberman Pinscher to scout out the many caves
where the Japanese soldiers were hiding. The dogs spent their time
with the Marines in trenches at night, and warned the Marines when
enemy soldiers were approaching, because they could hear them and
smell them at night. Many of our Marines owe their lives to the
 Dobermans who served on Guam.

The statue you see in the photographs stands today in the middle
of the graves of the 24 Doberman Pinschers who were killed in the
battle of Guam. The battle happened in 1944. The cemetery was
swallowed up by the jungle over the years. When the United
Doberman Club learned this, they raised thousands of dollars to
commission this bronze statue and to clean up the graves. Finally,
about 10 years ago, many Pentagon brass and Doberman owners
traveled all of the way back to Guam to bring the statue to the
cemetery to honor the Dobermans who died giving their lives for the
U.S. soldiers and for our country. The statue had stood in the center
courtyard of the Pentagon. The first photo shows the statue
surrounded by the ring of graves of the dogs who lie there in honor.
The second photo shows the base of the statue so you can see what
 was written on it.
